Welcome to another minute mental prayer. First of all, let's ask Our Blessed Lord to enlighten us and guide us to greater truth, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen +

Now, let's think about these reflections for a few moments while meditating on this quote:

“Do penance: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
Matthew 3:2

What does this quote mean? What lesson does it teach me? What virtue can I practice based on this quote?

Here is a related reading from the Shepherd of Hermas: "What, sir," say I, "are the evil deeds from which we must restrain ourselves?" "Hear," says he: "from adultery and fornication, from unlawful reveling, from wicked luxury, from indulgence in many kinds of food and the extravagance of riches, and from boastfulness, and haughtiness, and insolence, and lies, and backbiting, and hypocrisy, from the remembrance of wrong, and from all slander. These are the deeds that are most wicked in the life of men. From all these deeds, therefore, the servant of God must restrain himself. For he who does not restrain himself from these, cannot live to God."

Now, let's thank God for his enlightenment, mercy, and forgiveness. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen ☦️
