Details:

Saint Andrew Kaggwa was one of the Uganda Martyrs, who were a group of 45 Christians, both Catholic and Anglican. These Christians were martyred between 1885 and 1887 in Buganda, now part of Uganda, on orders of the Kabaka of Buganda. Their deaths occurred in the midst of a religious struggle for political influence at the Buganda royal court and during the "Scramble for Africa". The martyrs were later canonized by the Catholic Church in 1964.
