Eduard Von Steinle was an Austrian artist born on 2 July 1810 in Vienna and died on 19 September 1886 in Frankfurt. He was a professor of historical painting at the Städel Museum in Frankfurt and a member of the Nazarene movement, which aimed to revive honesty and spirituality in art.
