Details:

The Visitation is the biblical event of Mary visiting her cousin Elizabeth, as described in the Gospel According to Luke (1:39–56)[1]. It is honored with a special feast celebrated on May 31[2][3] and is closely connected with Jesus and his saving work[4]. In this powerful encounter, two women - Mary, now miraculously pregnant with the Christ Child, and Elizabeth, whose maternity carried his forerunner - met[5].

Eduard Von Steinle was an Austrian artist born on 2 July 1810 in Vienna and died on 19 September 1886 in Frankfurt[1][2]. He was a professor of historical painting at the Städel Museum in Frankfurt and a member of the Nazarene movement, which aimed to revive honesty and spirituality in art[3]. His artworks have been sold at auction to research and compare prices[4].
