This painting of Christ's first miracle, turning water into wine at a wedding feast, was completed in 1923 by the English painter Winifred Knights while she held the Rome Scholarship at the British School at Rome. It was one of several works by British artists that helped revive religious imagery in painting during the 1920s, and is now held by the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa.
