Saint Fulrad (710-784) served as a Benedictine monk and abbot of the Abbey of Saint-Denis, located near Paris, France. He was born into a wealthy family in Alsace and became a trusted advisor to both King Pepin and Charlemagne. Fulrad is considered to be an important figure in the rise of the Frankish Kingdom and provides valuable insight into early Carolingian society. Saint-Hippolyte, the town where he was born, is situated in the northeast of the Doubs area in France and is home to the Saint-Hippolyte Convent.
