Sketches for the pendentives of the dome of the collegiate church of La Granja ( Segovia ). Bayeu continued the project started by Giambattista Tiepolo , who died in 1770, giving the compositions the harmony, solidity and clarity learned during his training with Mengs . Three of the evangelists appear writing, inspired by angels, while Luke, patron saint of painters, holds a painting with the Virgin and Child.
