Details:

This image presents the hierarchy of the church in successive levels. The clergy (which includes priests, bishops, and cardinals) are at the top of the image. Most likely because the clergy provide the sacraments. On the next level are monks. Some monks are clergy, but most are not. Monks are on the second level because they dedicate their lives to God and prayer. On the bottom level are the laypeople, who are equally important in the Body of Christ. Laypeople pray and provide support and money for church projects and they have children who later may become monks, nuns, or priests.
