Saint John Neumann, also known as St. John Nepomucene Neumann, was a Catholic bishop in the United States. He was born in Bohemia in 1811 and later became the first male American citizen to be canonized as a saint. Neumann is well-known for his holiness, learning, spiritual writing, and preaching. He founded the first Catholic diocesan school system in the US and was recognized for his exceptional organizing ability in spreading the Good News. He is also remembered for his dedication to the education of children and is considered a patron saint of Catholic education. Neumann was canonized in 1977 and is buried in St. Peter the Apostle Church in Philadelphia[2][3][5].
