Jesus at the home of Martha and Mary (also referred to as Christ in the House of Martha and by other variant names) refers to a Biblical episode in the life of Jesus which appears only in Luke's Gospel (Luke 10:38–42)). In the episode, Mary is attentively listening to Jesus while Martha was distracted by chores. When Martha sees that Mary is not doing any work, she asks Jesus to admonish Mary. Jesus replies "You are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."
