Relief with the Nativity (1180) - Public Domain Catholic Stock Photo

This small relief of the Nativity, carved from walrus ivory with traces of red polychromy, dates from around 1180. It measures only about 8.9 x 7.3 cm and is an early example of Romanesque devotional carving.
