This prayer nut, carved from boxwood with silver and gold fittings, opens to reveal miniature scenes of the Nativity and the Adoration of the Magi carved in astonishing detail. It is only 48mm in diameter and comes from the workshop of Adam Dircksz, active in the early 16th century.
