Albertus Magnus wrote a book about animals in the 13th century called "De animalibus". A manuscript of this book from the late 15th century, known as cod. fiesolano 67, is held at the Biblioteca Medicea Laurenziana in Florence, Italy. The library has many other manuscripts and printed books, and previews of this manuscript are available online.
