David, King Over All Israel, as in 2 Samuel 5:1-12 (1896, United States) by the Providence Lithograph Company - Public Domain Catholic Painting
Details:
2 Samuel 5 is a book in the Old Testament of the Bible that describes how David became king over Israel[1][2][3][4]. All the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron and said, "We are your own flesh and blood"[1][2][3]. In times past, when Saul was king over them, David led Israel on their military campaigns[1][2]. The Lord said to David, "You will shepherd my people Israel, and you will become their ruler"[1]. David defeated the Philistines twice in this chapter[4].
