Confirmation 2024
Confirmation is one of the three sacraments of initiation into the Catholic Church, along with Baptism and Holy Communion. It completes the process begun at Baptism by conferring a special outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The confirmed person receives the gifts and graces of the Holy Spirit - wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord. This sacrament strengthens and seals the baptized with the power of the Holy Spirit, empowering them to spread and defend the faith as "soldiers of Christ." The essential rite is the anointing with chrism oil on the forehead by a bishop or priest. Traditionally given to those around ages 7-18, Confirmation marks the full initiation into the Church.
