Lippoldsberg is located in Germany in the extreme north of northern Hesse in the Weser Uplands between Solling (in the north), Kiffing (ridge in the southeast), behind which the Bramwald (in the south-southeast) is, and Reinhardswald (in the southwest). It extends directly south of the Lower Saxon community of Bodenfelde , 6.5 km southwest of Uslar , 7 km east of Bad Karlshafen and 34 km north of Kassel .

Lippoldsberg is located at about 110 to 140  m above sea level. NN on the right bank of the Oberweser , into which the Schwülme coming from the east flows here, which in parts forms the border with Lower Saxony and from which the artificially created Mühlbach branches off above or east of Lippoldsberg.
