Coptic tradition recounts that the Holy Family’s journey through Egypt spanned approximately three to four years. Throughout this period, they are said to have visited many sites, mainly traveling along and across the Nile River. Accounts describe the Holy Family repeatedly crossing the Nile, journeying through the Delta, and reaching as far south as Assiut in Upper Egypt before returning to Palestine after Herod’s death.
