Saint Francis kneels before the crucified Christ at his right hand and receives the stigmata. Behind Francis is his brotherhood. The front brother holds a crucifix with both hands. People rise from the dead on the left of the print and enter the gates of heaven on the right. At the top of the print are the pierced heart, the feet and hands of Christ and a papal coat of arms on both sides. On the right the coat of arms of Pope Alexander VI, on the left that of Pope Julius II. Below the image is a four-line caption.
