Catholic service members have attended Mass wherever they have been stationed: in ship chapels and on flight decks, in tents and field chapels, and at bases around the world. Catholics in the U.S. armed forces are served by chaplains and by the Archdiocese for the Military Services, whose archbishop and auxiliary bishops travel to visit troops for the great feasts of the Church year.
